The What Car? Reader Awards are the only annual car awards voted for solely by you, the car buyer. Our bank of more than 30,000 reader reviews left at whatcar.com allows us to work out your favourite – and least favourite – cars in each class.

This is invaluable information for anyone choosing a new car. Here at What Car? we can give you unbiased and scientific verdicts on how well a car drives, how practical it is or how big a discount you can expect when buying, but we need your help to find out what each car is like to live with in the long term.

We’ve left out reviews of cars no longer on sale, as well as any model that has fewer than 10 reviews in total. Even so, this year’s Reader Awards include 170 cars.

If you want to add your opinion in time for next year’s awards, log on to whatcar.com and post a review of your car. It’ll count towards next year’s awards and will make our database even more invaluable to Britain’s car buyers.
